World Class Fashion Showcased at Summer Sizzle BVI

Summer Sizzle BVI, the Caribbean’s premier fashion and lifestyle event, brought glamor and glitter to The BVI.

Held this year from July 20th to the 25th, Summer Sizzle attracts fashion and travel influencers, designers, models, press, celebrities and entertainers – bringing pizzazz to the Territory’s summer season.

The event kicked off with a Welcome Party held at De Loose Mongoose on Beef Island and a Flora and Fauna extravaganza at Long Bay Beach Resort.

Models from New York, the BVI and elsewhere strutted their stuff at the Global Glamor Runway Show, which was held for the first time at the Tortola Pier Park. This event showcased world renowned fashion designers, as well as new talent. Previous events have made a splash by featuring celebrities and fashion influencers including Hollywood actress Taraji P. Henson; British TV personality, Nigel Barker; actress and model, Eva Marcille and entertainment reporter, Tanika Ray, among others.

This year’s show was hosted by actor Joel Steingold, known for his role as Marcus St John on the Showtime Series “The Chi Town.”He can also be seen in the upcoming Disney Plus Series “The Crossover.” The versatile actor has also appeared on “How To Get Away with Murder”, “Shameless”, “Hawaii 5-0”, and the “Muppets”. A true BVI enthusiast, Steingold noted that he “loves all things BVI.”

Executive Producer Terry Donovan established Summer Sizzlel BVI in 2007 as a fashion and lifestyle experience inspired, he says, by New York Fashion Week. He adds that promoting the BVI and attracting visitors during the slower off-peak season are among the event’s goals. By involving local talent in the event, he also hopes to introduce a new generation to exciting career opportunities in the fashion industry.
