Poker Run Rides Again

If you love power boats and a challenge that will take you on a fast-paced tour of the British Virgin Islands then make sure to sign up for the BVI Poker Run to be held on Sunday, May 28th. This year’s Leverick Bay Poker Run marks the 19th anniversary of the legendary event that attracts thousands of boating enthusiasts from throughout the BVI, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

At the start of the race, participants are given a predetermined route to follow, along with a list of popular BVI ports of call where boats make a brief stop to collect a card. Once the route is completed and all cards collected, boats return to Leverick Bay Resort & Marina. Participants holding the best five-card poker hand are crowned as the Poker Run victors. Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place hands.

A significant portion of donations from the event’s sponsors – be it monetary, gifts or in-kind sponsorships – and a portion of the Poker Run participants’ entry fees, will be donated to a variety of charitable foundations on Virgin Gorda.

Past charitable recipients have included The Virgin Gorda Charitable Trust, VGROC and ARC. Over the past 18 years, the Poker Run’s sponsorships and donations donated over $155,000 US to charity.
